Bee
Registry name
etfuturum:bee
Audit correction: previously written as
etfuturum.bee(wrong separator). Evidence:core/proxy/CommonProxy.java:289registerEntity(EntityBee.class, "bee", 21, ...)
Basic info
-
Health: 10 HP
-
Armor: None
-
Size:
0.7 × 0.7(width × height) -
Spawn conditions: No
EntityRegistry.addSpawnentry exists forEntityBeeanywhere in this source tree — bees have no natural spawn at all (no vanilla-style spawn list, and no spawn egg in the sense of a world-spawn rule). They are obtainable via theetfuturum:beespawn egg / commands, and by breaking a loaded …/block/bee-hive|beehive or bee nest that a player has placed.Audit correction: the previous text asserted “bees appear via world generation (bee hives in trees)”. No such world-generation rule for bees / bee hives in trees was found in this repository, so that claim is not supported by the source.
-
Drops: Unknown (no explicit
dropFewItemsoverride; default EntityAnimal drops nothing) -
Behaviour: Flying animal. Navigates using
FlyingPathNavigator. Has nectar/sting lifecycle.
Configuration gate
- Entity registration:
ConfigEntities.enableBees, keyenableBees, default ON (configuration/configs/ConfigEntities.java:55). - The blocks
ModBlocks.BEEHIVE/BEE_NESTare gated by the same switch (ModBlocks.java:501-502both readConfigEntities.enableBees), so the bee and its hive are bound together. See …/block/bee-hive.

Lifecycle and states
- Has Nectar: When carrying pollen. Visual particle trail. Resets crop counter.
- Has Stung: Bee has stung and will die shortly after attacking.
- Pollinating: Bee is actively pollinating a flower (bit flag 0x1).
- Angry: Triggered when bee or nearby bee is attacked; anger timer counts down from 400–800 ticks. When angry and not stung, bee pursues the attacker and nearby bees.
- Hive position: Stored
BlockPos; bees return to hive when conditions met.
Behaviour details
Foraging
- Find a flower within range → travel to it → pollinate for 400+ ticks → gain nectar
- Return to hive → deliver honey → repeat
Pollination mechanics
FindPollinationTargetGoal: while carrying nectar, randomly grows adjacent crops (max 10 crops per trip). Increments crop block metadata by 1.
Anger / attack
- When attacked: all bees within 32-block radius become angry at the attacker
- Anger duration:
400 + rand(400)ticks - Sting attack deals 2 damage + poison potion (Normal: 10s, Hard: 18s)
- After stinging: bee dies within ~1200 ticks or on next damage
Hive rules
- Cannot enter hive if:
stayOutOfHiveCountdown > 0, pollinating, has stung, or hive is on fire - If failed pollinating for >3600 ticks, forced back to hive
- Automatically looks for new hive if none held and cooldown expired
Breeding
- Breeding item: Any registered
BeePlantRegistryflower (crops, flower blocks, sweet berry bushes) - Breeding two bees produces a child bee
Sounds
- Hurt:
minecraft:entity.bee.hurt - Death:
minecraft:entity.bee.death - Pollinate (ambient while on flower):
minecraft:entity.bee.pollinate - Sting:
minecraft:entity.bee.sting
Notes
- Creature attribute: ARTHROPOD
- Cannot suffocate in water (has
underWaterTicksdrowning counter; drowns after 20 ticks underwater) fall()andupdateFallState()overridden as no-ops — immune to fall damage- Eye height:
height × 0.5 - Does not take block path weights below 0 (liquid, fire, cocoa, fences, walls, magma blocks)
